“Hatago” is the colloquial term for a traditional Japanese inn, where weary travelers could rest their feet in an atmosphere of warm hospitality. The spirit of “Hatago” is alive and well here at Hatago Hasegawa. Hotel Hatago Hasegawa is a 10 min. walk from Shinyakushiji, and is located in a quiet residential area. The old street in front of the hotel is the entrance to Yagyu no Sato. (This was a main thoroughfare during the era of the chonmage samurai.) The rooms may be small, but the kindness of the staff, and the at home atmosphere of this family-owned inn is sure to compensate for it. The meals are traditional home dishes of Nara.
