Miyajima is a town of history and culture surrounded by the rich nature of mountains and the sea. The townscape of Miyajima has been carefully passed down without making major changes to the old alleys and town layouts and making effective use of the limited land available. HEM'S HOTEL, with only one guest per day, is a 100-year-old machiya (townhouse) in the Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings which was renovated and opened in 2022.

In renovating the machiya, Western touch was added to the Japanese architecture, with twin beds in the upstairs bedrooms, tables with chairs in the living room, and a café on the first floor. The western touch was also boldly added including the carpets and other areas. While this gives a mysterious, somewhat stateless and exotic impression, you can feel a peaceful atmosphere of the Japanese-style building. The inside of the building seems quiet.

The owner has a history of working at a Western-style restaurant in Hiroshima City. Like the building, the dishes he serves are creative, neither completely Japanese nor Western style and carefully arranged in his favorite dishware.

The concept of the inn is " Experience an extraordinary stay on Miyajima”. The owner wants to make this inn a place where a small group of people can drop in casually and spend a relaxing stay. His gentle atmosphere and the unobtrusive service are also impressive. It will make your stay warm, different from the cool appearance of the inn.
