A 200-year-old old private house inn.

Hana, an old private house for rent with an impressive thatched roof, is located on Mukaishima Island, across the shore from Onomichi on the mainland. If you contact us in advance, we will provide a car pick-up service to JR Onomichi Station. There is also a ferry that pedestrians and bicycles can board within a 3-minute walk from JR Onomichi Station. You can board the boat while riding your bicycle. The fare is very reasonable. Please experience “the shortest ferry in Japan”.

The building was constructed approximately 200 years ago. The posts and beams are made of chestnut wood, which is durable, water-resistant, strong, and long-lasting. It is a very historic old house, but the inside of the house is bright with sunlight. Therefore, you do not feel old-fashioned. And it is very spacious and open, including the garden. The restroom, bath and kitchen have been renovated and there is no inconvenience. The rooms are air-conditioned, but you can experience the advantages of thatched roofs: cool in summer and warm in winter. That seems to be the best perk of this inn. Isn't it just natural and the best relaxation?

As an aside, the owner of the inn is a "serious car enthusiast” To date, he has driven more than 30 cars. He also has an international racing license. He especially likes old cars. He takes good care of his old cars and maintains them.

My impression from staying at this inn is that maintaining something old is not easy. The old things cannot be maintained without a loving and caring attitude. Old houses and old cars. I believe that the heart for the good old things is linked. The preservation of the house and car shows the character of the owner. I believe that this is connected to polite customer service and a respect for human connection.
