Mihonoseki Hashizuya

Comfortable all-electric old folk house.

Mihonoseki Hashizuya is the annex of the main building, Fukumakan which is located right next to the entrance of Miho shrine. We completely renovated a 200-year-old old folk house that flourished as a port for cargo ships called Kitamae-bune during the Edo period. We have utilized the original structure and used natural materials for the renovation in order to keep the air of an old folk house at that time. This is an all-electric and hybrid whole-house-reserved inn with the mixture of the wisdom of carpenters from the past and modern architecture and technology makes here the place which you can spend a comfortable time.

If you would like to have dinner and breakfast, they will be served at the main building, Fukumakan. We offer white squid and shellfish dishes such as abalone and turban shell from spring to summer, sea bream and crab dishes from autumn to winter. Please enjoy the local seasonal sea food including sun-dried fish. It’s a dish as if it has just come out of the sea.

You can also cook your own meals. Please enjoy your stay by cooking your own ingredients with the IH cooker, or making a fish dish after fishing.

You can fill the bath with hot water just by pushing a button, so you can immerse yourself in the bath immediately. Of course, you can also use the bath in the main building, Fukumakan.

Please enjoy strolling along the old main street paved with stones that glow blue when they get wet, visiting the Miho Shrine right next to the Fukumakan, walking along the beach amid a sea breeze, or looking blankly at fishing boats from the inn. The right distance between the main building and the annex produce a stylish effect.
